Raices South End

Raices South End is an elevated, modern, Mexican restaurant located at The RailYard in Charlotte’s vibrant South End neighborhood. Owned by husband-and-wife restaurateurs, Alfonso Bravo and Amalia Macias, the concept serves as a deeply personal tribute to their heritage, focusing heavily on the distinct regional culinary traditions of Jalisco and Oaxaca. The kitchen is spearheaded by Chef TJ Steele, who brings a Michelin-starred pedigree from his time at Brooklyn’s Claro. The menu highlights traditional, ingredient-forward cooking techniques, featuring: handmade tortillas made from heirloom corn pressed daily, complex, generationally-inspired moles, open-fire cooking and fresh coastal seafood/ceviches. Designed by Black Dove Interiors, the space delivers a dark, moody, and sophisticated atmosphere tailored perfectly for date nights or intimate gatherings. Complementing the food is an expansive, agave-focused beverage program developed alongside internationally recognized mixologist Edson Sanchez, offering cocktail menus inspired by the lively bar scene of Mexico City.
